Confused why the package remained in Beijing after being processed on August 9th and not placed in an international carrier to ship to the U.S.A.

Hi jrzarco,

It was delivered by airline on August 9 and takes about 20-60 days to have update showing it arrives in the USA after it was delivered by airline. You'd better wait for more days to get update.
