It should be waiting for the seller to declare to the customs now. You'd better contact the seller to ask if he has received the notice from the customs. If no, let him call China customs service number 12360 to check.

My EMS package EE044065495RU containing letters and postcards (it’s a birthday gift) is held at the customs in Guangzhou City (import customs retained for inspection/EME).
The recipient has contacted the customs but they haven't provided any information about how to get the package. What can be done for this package to be released? Could someone contact the customs and ask what’s wrong? Thank you for your help.

What does the customs say? They should tell how to get the package if it needs to be declared or do something.
