Where is is my oackage it’s been in New York since Dec 2 with nothing and no updates nothing it’s been in the mail for almost a month now

My package said it was in the bronx on monday, now I'm receiving a message saying deliver went from 6 days to 7. At this rate I feel like it won't be here for my birthday. Can somebody explain why my package is going backwards please.
