Hi
I send some textbooks, exercise books and other reading materials to my home country but the tracking says export cancellation. Since I am the sender, but I am no longer in China what can be done?

Hi International student,
Having your package marked "Export Cancelled" is indeed troublesome, especially since you are currently not in the country. The key to resolving this is to immediately contact the courier company to ascertain the specific reason and choose a follow-up plan based on the value of the goods.
First Step: Immediately Contact the Courier Company to Ascertain the Reason
As the sender, you are responsible for the package. The most urgent matter is to contact the courier company's customer service online; this is crucial to resolving the issue.
Obtain the Tracking Number and Information: Prepare the complete tracking number, sender's, and recipient's details.
Contact Customer Service Through Official Channels: You can contact the courier company through their official website, app, or international customer service hotline.
You can state: "I am the sender, and my package (tracking number: XXX) shows 'Export Cancelled' in its logistics status. I need to understand the specific reason and the package's current exact location."
Confirm the Specific Reason and Package Status: "Export Cancellation" can be caused by various factors. You need to ask customer service about the following:
Specific Reason: Is it a customs clearance issue (such as discrepancies in declaration, missing documents, exceeding personal tax-free allowance, etc.)? Delivery failed (address incomplete, recipient unreachable)? Or other operational reasons?
Current location of the package: Is it in the domestic origin warehouse, transit center, or has it been returned to a processing point?
Processing timeframe: Understand how long the package will be held and the deadline for you to make a final decision. If not processed by the deadline, the package may be automatically returned or destroyed as unclaimed goods.
Subsequent handling options: Determined based on package value. After determining the cause and package location, you can decide on the subsequent options based on your package's value and return costs.
