It left China on March 24 and is in transit to the US now. You can not know the exact situation when it's in the middle locations. It usually takes about 20-40 days (after it left China) to reach and there will be further update when it arrives.

Hi, I ordered a package with tracking number LS308998427CN that was sent to China Post on April 17th. The last I see on the tracking update is "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment -> We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece." on May 3rd. Is there a way I can tell where my package is next year? The estimated date of arrival at my post office keeps getting pushed back.

It should have left China and is in transit to the US now. You can not know the exact situation when it's in the middle locations. It usually takes about 30-60 days to have update showing it arrives. Please wait for more days to get update.
