Status of my parcel EA505164716CN

I am trying desperately to find out the status of my EMS parcel # EA505164716CN. When I go to the EMS website to track the parcel, it shows that the parcel was dispatched from the GuangDong Shi 51040034 sorting center on three separate occasions; 2020-04-19 03:03:05, 2020-04-24 05:54:52 and 2020-04-26 03:03:25. We made an inquiry with the 11183 call center and received this message: Dear Customer, Regarding your email: EA505164716CN This item is affected by the global development of the epidemic, International transport capacity is tight, multiple routes limited capacity, has been no flight delivery, the package is expected to arrange shipment in 2-3 weeks, Please be patient, if you have any objection, please call us: 02038181576. The duty time is: 09:00-12:00 13:30-18:00.

We then made an inquiry with the local post office that the parcel was mailed from and was told that the parcel was placed on the plane manifest on the aft-mentioned 2020-04-26 date. This same office told us that the first delay 2030-04-24 was due to a error in someone re-entering the data. Then on 2030-04-26 we were told that the parcel was opened by China customs on the three dates mentioned causing delay.

When choosing this mailer service, we were told that at most it would take no more than 8 days to reach the USA. It’s now been 11 days and we’re unsure if it left China. Additionally, if there is an legitimate problem with service delays due to the global development of the epidemic, why weren’t we told of this problem when we initially mailed out the parcel? We could have made a better choice in choosing the service provider. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hi SFRay,

Most of the packages sent by EMS are delayed due to coronavirus. The delivery time couldn't be guaranteed during this special period. The local post office should let you know this. It's still in transit in China now. You need to wait for 7-15 days for it to leave China.
