Item Stuck in Customs/Tracking Expired (LH169388619US)

Hi, I returned an item I ordered back to China on 4/26/22 (#: LH169388619US) through USPS and marked on the customs declaration that it was "returned goods". The tracking has now expired and last update was on 6/4/22 that stated the item was stuck in China customs. The seller keeps telling me to wait it out and that there is nothing they can do but being in stuck in customs for 3 months is overboard. Could anyone please let me know what needs to be done next to get the return item delivered? Thank you!

It was waiting for the seller to pay for the tax but he didn't pay. So, it's on the way back now.
