What does this mean about sending packages?

Asked by mrbear | 9/25/2020 8:44:37 PM

This is what it says on the Hong Kong Post website for my package. Does this mean the package will not give any updates when it ships to my country? I am from Canada and it only says the package has left the destination and handed to courier.

Processing and delivery information of mail at the destination is supplied by the destination postal administration. According to the international postal operation arrangements of the Universal Postal Union, postal administrations are not bound to release processing and delivery information of "international registered mail", and postal administrations of the following countries/regions have ceased to release such information:
1. Canada
2. Netherlands
3. United States of America

Hi mrbear,

Yes, that means there will be no update in tracking information for packages sent to Canada, Netherlands and United States of America after they leave Hong Kong.

It says if you need assistance for a package to send an enquiry.

For further enquiry concerning this mail item, please submit a completed mail enquiry form together with a copy of the certificate of posting within the enquiry period*.
* Enquiries must be made within 3 months for Speedpost items and within 5 months for parcels and registered letters/packets from the date of posting.

does this mean hong kong post can still track the package with the tracking number?
