EB839167051CN Stuck in customs.

Hello,
My package (EB839167051CN) has been stuck in Chinese customs for more than a week. It says "RETENTION TO BE VERIFIED". It hasn't updated since.
Is this normal?
If there's a problem with payment or documentation missing, better be asking for a refund now. Seller is going to do nothing.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
When your express delivery shows the "Export Customs/Retained for Inspection" status in Guangzhou and stays for a long time, it usually means the following situations and suggestions:
Possible reasons:
Routine customs inspection
Export customs conduct random inspections on packages, especially high-value, sensitive categories (such as electronic products, cosmetics, branded items, etc.) or packages with unclear declared information are easy to be inspected.
Problems with declaration documents
Product name, quantity, and value declaration are inconsistent
Missing necessary certification documents (such as FDA, CE, etc.)
Invoice or waybill information is unclear
Delays during peak logistics season
As an international freight hub, Guangzhou may cause delays due to a surge in customs processing during the peak season.
Sensitive goods
Items containing batteries, liquids, powders, etc. may require additional inspection.
Suggestions for response:
Contact the logistics company
Request a list of supplementary materials required by the customs (such as shopping receipts, identity certificates, etc.)
Confirm whether additional tariffs need to be paid (international items)
Self-check declaration information
Check whether the product description and value are consistent with the actual value to avoid "underreporting" or "inconsistent with the product name"
Waiting time reference
Usually the inspection cycle is 3-7 working days, and may be extended to 2 weeks in complex situations
If there is no update for more than 15 days, it is recommended to initiate a formal inquiry through the logistics company
Tips:
The seller can call the 12360 customs service hotline for consultation (the waybill number must be provided).

Many thanks Daisy!
Nevertheless, is there an actual problem with the package? Did it pass inspection? Or is just stuck due to parcel overflow?
It's really close to 15 days since it moved.I understand everything you wrote, but I would like to know if you have more information.
Many thanks.
