I'm sending a personal gift to China and would like to pay any taxes or duties that are required now that it has gone through customs. Is there a way for me to do this so that the receiver does not have to pay the tax themselves?

I’m having the same issue, I need to pay customs for the EMS package to deliver to the receiver but can’t find any help in English.
There is no phone number in English for you to contact. You need to know Chinese in order to pay the tax. You can add EMS wechat to pay for it. But you need to know Chinese.
