My parcel has been held in customs since the 4/01/22

I have now finally been in contact with the person I am trying to send my parcel back too and he is saying customs has been in contact with him saying the custom charge is £70 to pay and he is telling me that i have to pay for it, I thought I paid all the custom charges when I first sent the parcel back. I am in a lot of distress as I ordered some shoes that turned up damaged and the place I bought it from are not helpful or apologized I am getting really upset I just want my refund. Could you please help me my tracking number is RN746592082GB.
