Returned defective product to China. Package stuck customs. How to get it back?

Hello,
I have sent a partially defective product back to the seller in China.
Tracking number: CY730977615DE
The package tracking currently shows me the following status:
Destination
- Sync Time: 2025-11-21 08:58:02 (GMT+01:00)
2025-09-29 16:13
Guangzhou City 51040075, application review failed

2025-09-29 13:31
Guangzhou 51040075, waiting for the recipient to submit declaration materials to customs, [Guangzhou International Customs Broker], Tel: 020-39535313

The seller is not responding and is ignoring my attempts to contact them.
How can I at least get the package back?

Hi MartinK,

In normal, it needs the seller's cooperation. If the seler doesn't respond you, you can only contact DHL Paket to help you call it back.

DHL Just tells me that the package is at customs and they can't do anything. I should get in touch with the seller ..who is ignoring me

Hi there

I returned a package to China (from Australia) tracking number LK117443840AU.

I sent it on the 19th of March 2021 and I have just seen that is it saying 'Import stopped by Customs (Inbound)' What does this mean?? Can this parcel please be taken to the address on the item, I purchased this item and it was defective hence posting it back for a refund.
I have a PayPal dispute open and it will close soon if the item isn’t returned and don’t want to lose my money.
