Next, your package is most likely to face two outcomes:
High probability: Release after inspection (most likely scenario)
Many packages are released after being randomly inspected and confirmed to be problem-free by customs. From your records, there was a "Export Customs/Release" status on April 4th, but it was subsequently "security check returned." This is likely because the machine scan or initial inspection found something suspicious, requiring manual verification. If this is the case, the status will usually be updated to "Release" within a few days and continue to be sent to Russia.
Low probability: Returned due to violations
If customs finds prohibited or restricted export items (e.g., pure batteries, counterfeit branded goods, liquids, powders, etc.) or significant discrepancies in the declared information during manual inspection, the package will be returned to the sender. The logistics status will then be updated to "Returned" or "Sender Recall".
Why hasn't customs contacted you?
As the recipient, before the package leaves China, customs inspection focuses on whether the "shipping behavior" and the "items themselves" comply with Chinese export regulations. Thank you! I've already contacted the sender, they said it's probably returning back to their warehouse and they will give me a refund if it does get returned.
